Homemade Catalina Dressing
This is a zippy salad dressing! A combination of sweet, tangy & mild spices. It is a great way to flavor otherwise bland ingredients!

Ingredients:
- 1/2 c. ketchup
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. red wine vinegar or apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 c. onion, grated (or use 1/2 tsp. onion powder)
- 1 tsp. paprika, (or sweet or smoked)
- 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 c. salad oil (vegetable oil, canola oil, or sunflower oil)
- Salt & pepper, to taste
Directions:
- Add the ketchup, vinegar, onion, paprika & Worcestershire sauce to a food processor (or blender). Pulse until well blended.
- With the food processor still on, gradually add the oil. Taste then season it with salt (to taste) & pepper (to taste).
- Cover & refrigerate before serving.
- Enjoy on a wedge salad, or any other kind of salad! Or even use it as a dip for raw carrots, fresh broccoli and/or fresh cauliflower!
Tips:
- This dressing gets sweeter as it sets. If you are not a fan of sweet dressings, start with less sugar. Taste the dressing & add more if needed.
- Give the dressing a kick by adding red pepper flakes to it.
- Add a minced garlic clove, or garlic powder, to it for a more intense flavor.
