French Dip Sandwiches

Red Kettle Cook

There is nothing like a French Dip sandwich! Unless you make it yourself & season it just the way that you want it to taste!

French Dip Sandwiches is a Free Recipe from RedKettleCook.com!

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 lb. beef Chuck roast
  • 2 T. olive oil
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • 1 T. Casero Total Seasoning
  • 1 packet (1 oz.) of au jus seasoning mix
  • 1 packet of beefy onion soup mix
  • 1 c. beef broth
  • 3 T. garlic & herb butter
  • Crusty sturdy rolls or French baguettes
  • Provolone cheese slices

Directions:

  1. Turn the crockpot onto sear (or sear it in a separate cast iron skillet) & add the olive oil.
  2. Season one side of the Chuck roast with salt (to taste), pepper (to taste) & Casero Total Seasoning.
  3. Put the Chuck roast into the crockpot, seasoned side down.
  4. Then add salt (to taste) & pepper (to taste) to the other side of the Chuck roast.
  5. Once the seasoned side of the Chuck roast is seared, flip it over & sear the other side. There should be a nice, brown crust on both sides of the Chuck roast.
  6. Pour the beef broth into a 1 c. measuring container. Then add the packet of au jus seasoning mix & the beefy onion soup mix. Whisk those ingredients together until they are well combined, with no clumps and/or bumps in it.
  7. Pour the beef broth mix on top of the Chuck roast. Then top it with the garlic & herb butter.
  8. Put the lid on the crockpot & cook on low for 6-8 hours. Then take the Chuck roast out of the crockpot & shred it. Then place it back in the crockpot & sauté it for 10-20 minutes.
  9. Get the rolls, or French baguette ready to build the sandwiches. The bread can be toasted or not.
  10. Grab a large portion of the meat mixture & place it onto one side of the bread. Then add a slice or two of the Provolone cheese.
  11. Using a ladle, get some of the beef juices from the crockpot & pour it into a cup that the sandwich can be dipped into.
  12. To eat dip the sandwich into the beef juices & enjoy each delicious bite!
