Kung Pao Chicken
An Asian dish that is sure to please anyone eating it! Packed full of chicken with an amazing sauce that will knock your socks off! This will become one of your weekly meals!
Ingredients:
- 3 T. vegetable or peanut oil
- 1/2 lb. chicken breasts or chicken thighs, boneless & skinless
- 1 T. soy sauce (or coconut aminos)
- 1 T. oyster sauce
- 1/2 tsp. salt, or to taste
- 1/4 tsp. white pepper, or to taste
- 1 bunch of green onions, diced
- 3 garlic cloves, diced
- 1/2 c. peanuts
- 11 dried chilis, or to taste
Ingredients for the Sauce:
- 1 c. chicken stock
- 2 T. dark soy sauce (or coconut aminos)
- 1 T. oyster sauce
- 1/2 tsp. sesame oil
- 14 tsp. white pepper (or to taste)
- 1 T. corn starch
- 1/2 T. sugar
Directions:
- Dice up the chicken breasts, or chicken thighs & put them in a bowl. Add the corn starch, soy sauce (or coconut aminos), oyster sauce, salt (to taste) & white pepper (to taste) to the chicken. Then mix them together, with your hands or a rubber spatula, until they are well combined. Allow the chicken mixture to marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- For the sauce add all ingredients to a bowl & mix well. Then set it aside.
- In a skillet add the vegetable oil, or peanut oil, on medium-high heat. Then add the chicken mixure. Cook it for 3 minutes on one side. Flip it over & cook it for 3 minutes on the other side.
- Add the garlic, green onions, peanuts & dried chilis (to taste). Cook for another 3 minutes until it is nice & fragrant.
- Add the sauce & allow it to reduce in half. Once it has reduced, garnish with green onions & then it is ready to serve!
