Meat Lover's Deep-Dish Pizza Casserole is a Free Recipe from RedKettleCook.com!

Ingredients:

  • 2 c. mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 c. cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 lb. Italian sausage
  • 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 c. sugar-free pizza sauce (or marinara sauce with no sugar added)
  • 1/2 c. Parmesan cheese, shredded
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/4 c. heavy cream
  • 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • Salt & pepper, to taste

Optional toppings: pepperoni slices, bacon bits, or any other low carb toppings that you enjoy

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Grease a deep 9″ round pan, or use a foil pie pan.
  3. In a large skillet cook the Italian sausage & ground beef over medium heat breaking it into crumbles. Cook until browned, then drain excess fat. Season lightly with salt & pepper (to taste).
  4. In a bowl whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, 1 c. of the shredded mozzarella cheese & Italian seasoning. This mixture will form the base of the crust.
  5. Pour the egg mixture into the prepared pan & spread it evenly across the bottom. Spoon the pizza sauce over the top of it. Layer the cooked meat on top of the sauce, spreading it out evenly.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining 1 c. of mozzarella cheese & the shredded cheddar cheese over the meat layer . If using any of the optional toppings add them now, for additional flavor.
  7. Place the casserole in the oven & bake for 25-30 minutes or until the cheese is melted, bubbly & golden brown.
  8. Allow the pizza casserole to cool slightly before cutting it into slices. Serve with a side salad for a complete meal.

Tips:

  • For extra flavor, sprinkle a little garlic powder, or red pepper flakes over the cheese before baking.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days & reheated in the oven or microwave.
  • Feel free to swap out the ground sausage for turkey sausage or use a different combination of other meats.
