Review

This is a great cookbook for those making the transition to a Paleo lifestyle.  While the author does offer a 4 week menu plan, this isn’t a diet book.  She just offers recipes of tasty food that follows the Paleo lifestyle and encourages clean, processed-free eating.  I like many things about this cookbook including way it is organized, the mouthwatering photographs of the finished meal, and the meal plans and shopping lists to make your transition to the Paleo lifestyle easier.  Amy also has an extensive section on herbs and spices that I found very enlightening.   I think this is a perfect cookbook for Paleo novices and their families. The recipes are appetizing and aren’t too “out there”, which is great when cooking for kids or non-Paleo eating spouses.  Yet it also has recipes that even the seasoned Paleo cook will find refreshing.  It is a must-have for your cookbook collection!

    This is a very informative book for those who are trying to improve their health and/or lose weight.  If you’ve never tried smoothies before, this book is good for beginners as it gradually teaches you to add different fruits, veggies, proteins, and many other healthy products to your smoothies.  The recipes show you how to incorporate arugula, kale, collards, other greens and make digestible, nutrient filled and tasty smoothies that can add buckets of vegetables with all their vitamins, minerals and antioxidants to your daily diet.  This book truly does offer something for everyone. Whether you are looking for recipes to support you in weight loss, energy boosting, or overall healthiness, you will find the recipes for you. It will become one of your favorite kitchen staples.  I recommend this book for anyone seeking variety in one place – variety in recipes including a variety of vegetables, fruits, tastes and textures.

      I love to cook … most of the time. I have always cooked from scratch as I find it healthier, but some gourmet recipes are anything but healthy.

      Then there’s this book.

      For the first time in a long while, I am finally inspired enough to cook gourmet recipes because these are actually good for you! The recipes are not overly complicated and yet some ingredients may be a bit tricky to find. It has a good range of recipes that include those that are easy to make, but it also includes some that are a bit fancy.

      Beautifully photographed and presented, this cookbook is a treat for the eyes and would make a fabulous gift for the foodie in your life. Each recipe has a picture that makes the food look mouthwateringly delicious.
